Cookie Policy

This policy explains how TraceBoards uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for login, security, preferences, analytics, and product operation.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files stored on your device by a website or app. Similar technologies, such as local storage and session storage, can remember login state, preferences, and app settings.

2. How TraceBoards uses cookies

TraceBoards uses cookies and local storage to provide authentication, secure sessions, remember app preferences, support workspace functionality, and improve reliability.

3. Essential cookies

Essential cookies are needed for login, session handling, security, routing, and core app functionality. These cannot be disabled through TraceBoards because the app may not work without them.

4. Preference cookies and local storage

Preference storage may remember theme, sidebar state, selected workspace, demo/live mode for allowlisted development accounts, and other UI choices.

5. Analytics cookies

TraceBoards does not currently load a configured analytics provider in the MVP codebase. If analytics are enabled later, analytics cookies may help us understand usage, performance, and product reliability.

6. Marketing cookies

TraceBoards does not currently use advertising or marketing tracking cookies in the MVP codebase. If marketing cookies are added later, this policy should be updated and consent controls may be required.

7. Third-party cookies

Third-party services we use to operate TraceBoards, such as authentication, hosting, database, email, or security providers, may set their own cookies or similar technologies depending on how they are embedded or used.

8. Cookie choices

Because TraceBoards currently appears to use only essential and preference storage in the MVP, a cookie banner is not included by default. If non-essential analytics or marketing scripts are added, users should be offered appropriate consent choices where required.

9. How to change preferences

  • Use your browser settings to delete or block cookies.
  • Use TraceBoards settings to change app preferences where available.
  • If a future cookie banner is added, use Cookie Preferences to change analytics or marketing choices.

10. Contact information

For cookie or privacy questions, contact privacy@traceboards.com. For general support, contact support@traceboards.com.
